3km from Russell yet overlooking Orongo Bay and set amongst native bush in a kiwi and weka protection zone. We are a friendly Qualmark 3-star holiday park, specialising in the traditional Kiwi camping holiday experience and an ideal base from which to explore the Bay of Islands. The park grounds are spacious and abound with native birdlife, while our campsites are large with sea and/or bush views and many are private.

Activities include walks to historic sites and through native bush or relaxing at local beaches, together with all the Bay of Island water and land-based tours and fishing trips. Russell is a vibrant, cosmopolitan community, so a variety of galleries (some staffed by local artists), cafes and restaurants together with a couple of atmospheric local pubs and a specialty organic/locally grown food store are on offer.

Our 38 chalet-style units have exposed timber beam ceilings, giving an ambience of the European theme throughout. Many of our hotel units have their own private balcony, while others open out onto our grassed courtyard or garden areas. 

There are 3 modern rooms fully equipped for our disabled guests' comfort. These rooms include ramp entrance and special bathroom facilities. There are 3 rooms that offer kitchenette facilities, 2 hobs, microwave oven, toaster plus appropriate cooking utensils. And for families or larger groups there are also 3 rooms that offer the convenience of interconnecting doors.

Situated at Houhora Heads is Wagener Holiday Park, offering waterfront camping and cabins. The large, immaculate memorial park grounds are open to the public - a great place to holiday with all the family. The homestead grounds and adjacent beautiful waterfront memorial garden are a great place to stop for a picnic on the way to Cape Reinga.

The Beach Retreat is a family holiday home just steps from the beach private spa pool a great place to enjoy with family, there are 3 bedrooms plus conservatory bedroom (4th bedroom). Long Beach is one of the best beaches in Russell and a very safe swimming beach for families.

The lounge and dining area is open plan and features a log burner for the cooler nights creating a wonderful atmosphere. There are 2 queen-size beds, 1 double (in the conservatory) and 2 single divan beds, 1 bathroom (no bath), comfortable compact kitchen inclusive of all you would expect. Relax and unwind in the very private spa pool at the rear of the property.

Enjoy BBQ's on the outdoor entertaining deck area and dinner under the gazebo; this is the perfect place to spend a family holiday.
