The state of California is jam packed with family-friendly attractions for the whole family. It's the state where you will find theme parks like Disneyland and Legoland.

Of course there is much more to California than just the theme parks. Families have a wide range of attractions from world-class aquariums and zoos to historial museums.

There are so many wonderful things to do with the family when you visit San Francisco that you just can't spend a day here, so plan for a few days to enjoy this incredible city.

The first thing to visit is San Francisco's waterfront and Pier 39, this is where you can pick up souvenirs to remind you all of the fun time your family had while on vacation.

As you look out over San Francisco Bay you will see Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. A day trip out to Alcatraz is a must, however younger children may get a bit tired so be prepared for tired children at the end of the day.

Kids will love the Aquarium of the Bay where they can get up close and personal with more than 20,000 local marine animals.

Los Angeles  

Los Angeles is a large city and is more than just long stretches of freeways. One of the most do attractions to visit here is Universal Studios.

For those that haven't been to Universal Studios before, we recommend that you allow at least a day, or even two, to discover the glamour and excitement that you'll discover when you visit the studios. Your family will experience the magic that only Hollywood can create. 

For those with older children then Six Flags Magic Mountain is where you should head. There are lots of exciting rides to get your heart pumping which the teenagers will love!
