The Punakaiki Resort is a unique eco-tourism property that takes its name from the immediately adjacent Punakaiki Pancake Rocks. Nestled into the native bush on the South Island's West Coast, the Punakaiki Resort takes full advantage of its position on the very edge of this dramatic coastline. Visitors enjoy unparalleled views along the beach and over the Tasman Sea, and inland as far as Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain. Sitting on the doorstep of Paparoa National Park, the Hotel has been carefully designed to blend in to its natural setting and capture the essence of its beauty.

Punakaiki Resort offers two styles of accommodation: Standard Resort Rooms/Suites and Eco-Suites. The rooms are designed in harmony with the local environment and have either ocean or rainforest views. All rooms are positioned to maintain a sense of privacy and seclusion.

Your hosts, Sharon and Michael Pugh, were born and bred on the West Coast and extend to you a very warm welcome for an enjoyable stay. Our log and stone family homestead is situated on a sheep and cattle farmlet. Accommodation facilities within the homestead include one king bedroom with ensuite bathroom. An alternative option is two luxury, well-appointed and private self-contained log cottages. Our convenient, central West Coast location is handy to Greymouth and attractions such as Shantytown, Punakaiki pancake rocks and blowholes, etc.

Located just 500m south of village (a scenic stroll over through some spectacular scenery). We are the closest motel to Franz Josef Glacier, bus stop at the gate. Excellent views to the glacier, national park and surrounding mountains. Friendly, helpful staff who ensure your stay is enjoyable.

If you are after that quiet relaxing stay, then Aneden Motel is the choice for you. Only a 750m walk to our fantastic driftwood-littered beach or a 2-minute drive to the town centre.

There are 9 spacious self-contained motel accommodation units available, each with private ensuite plus a fully equipped kitchen. If you are travelling with a laptop we have wireless b/band in all units and the first 60 minutes of use during your stay is free, with great low prices thereafter.
